My literacy process

My literacy process essay
Electronic tools such as computers, cell phones, music players, digital cameras, videogames platforms seem to be very important and helpful in human’s daily life. It is a fact that thanks to the technology revolution people are becoming more aware of what is happening with computers. Most people might have at least an e-mail account. I remember when I created my first e-mail with hotmail. Ever since that moment I was in a constant updating process with my e-mails, and whenever I get bored with one I created a new one. I also remember the very first websites I visited. I did not know much about computers or the internet and the only purpose of using a PC was for playing videogames. When I had the opportunity to log in I went on carttonnetwork.com and spent hours in front of the screen playing my favorite games. When I grew older and started high school I saw myself forced to use a computer to do my homework more complete and correct.
As I was getting more into the computer´s world I wanted to have my own website. I actually studied computer informatics as a specialization during my staying at high school. Thanks to my skills at programming with HTML I decided to create a webpage; However, I had so many difficulties on buying a domain, so I went on free hosting sites to start doing my website. The very first account I got on internet was on Deviantart.com® in which artist share their work such as drawings paintings and photos. As I developed my drawing skills I was submitting my artwork as often as I could. And due to this action I got many friends who shared the same likes on drawing styles, so to speak my introduction I the Deviant´s drawing people community began.
The world of internet became more interesting for me as I was surfing on it along the millions of websites. Every time I turned on the computer and used the internet, I found a quiet interesting variety of sites you can visit with different purposes. Nowadays the most common visited sites are social networks, these are the kind of web pages that you go and meet new people, talk with friends, upload your pictures and videos s your contacts can comment them, share information for other to see and many other endings. My favorite network was MySpace®. I met many people there and also I discovered many of my favorite music bands thanks to this space, because at the beginning this was the only media in which music bands and singer could promote themselves. Some other social networks I stared using were Facebook® and Twitter® but these last two caught my attention since all my friends were using them. When I first began using social nets I did not like them at all because I thought there was not something positive about using those. On the other hand, I think it is necessary to be in touch with these nets.
Another aspect of electronic tools is blogs, which I consider very useful in our time. I believe that blogs are more important and meaningful than visiting only social networks, forums, playing sites and some others. Blogs are nicer because there are a lot of people all around the globe that have one. You can realize that blogs not only share personal information about the owner, but also academic and cultural purposes are involved into these. My initial blog was kind of confusing because I did not how to manage it neither edit it or use it, but once I knew how I could not stop using or creating blogs. I have one for the school, one for business and another one where I put my artwork. Blogs seem to be very important in the world of the internet as well as wikis and portfolios, they also serve as a support functioning as academic sources in which teachers can use to complement a subject and checking homework there.
In conclusion, electronic literacy and its multiple devices have been part of my life ever since I can remember, but the interest and mostly the need of these have increased with time. A lot of people used to believe that computers were luxury and very expensive, but now this idea has changed, we all have realized that it is a very important part of us as a society and also a huge step in our evolution as human beings.
